Jackpot at T.J.Maxx

Don’t you just love it when you score the most perfect item while bargain shopping? Well, I do and today was my lucky day! T.J. Maxx had more than five different styles of authentic Jack Rogers hiding admist the crocs and converse on their shelves. Noticing the price was half that of a full retail pair of Jacks, I loaded every style, color and size into my shopping cart (I think the sales clerk thought I was crazy!).

I’m not all that crazy, as I only ended up purchasing four pairs- one for me, one for my sister and two for my mother. My pair, seen in the shopping cart above, are snakeskin with black whipstitching. My sister loves her pair of pink and green patterned Jacks with lime green whipstitching; my mother had yet to take off her snakeskin pair with pewter whipstitching and cannot wait to break in her silver and navy pair!

Happy bargain shopping…you never know when you might score some fabulous items!

Gallavanting in My Gladiators

Looking for the hottest summer 2015 footwear trend? Look no further! Aside from the ever-classic Jack Roger sandal and a pair of fun wedges, gladiator sandals are this season’s hot shoe! From heels to flats, a few ankle straps to laces to the knee, a variety of gladiators will be seen on fashionistas everywhere. Personally, I am still on the hunt for a pair of knee-high gladiators, but I have an adorable pair of both gladiator heels and sandals.

On the left, the Vince Camuto Kamella Leather Strappy Open-Toe Sandals in nude are perfect for any summer occasion that calls for a bit more formal attire. I wore these comfortable and stylish heels to my Prom in April, and received several compliments. As an afforbale yet upscale brand, Vince Camuto is my go-to footwear collection.

As the newest addition to my closet (I just purchased them today!), the Isolá Matia Flat Sandal in oatmeal will be my go-to sandal this summer. When I feel like straying from my beloved Jack Rogers, these sandals will look great with sundresses, jean shorts, pants, and more! Cute and neutral, I am excited to pair these sandals with my whole wardrobe!

Trend Alert: Summer 2015

April showers brought May flowers, and now the lovely summer weather is upon us! As the temperature heats up and the days get longer, my wardrobe calls for a drastic change. according to Vogue, summer trends include kimonos, black mesh and ornate lace; but, I have compiled a more day-to-day guide to trends for summer 2015.

1. Head-to-toe white

Although no one should even attempt to pull this look off until Memorial Day weekend, the all white ensemble is a classic summer look.

2. Scalloped edges

Dresses, tops, skirts and beyond…scallop details can really add a bit of sass to any look.

3. Black & white

Who doesn’t love this timeless color combination? Whether keeping it monochromatic or adding a pop of color, black and white will prevail this summer.

4. One- shoulder silhouette

Why wear two straps when you can only have one? This fun silhouette can spice up any summer look. But, be sure to even out your tan lines before wearing!

5. Jumpsuits

Comfortable and unique, jumpsuits are perfect for any summer occasions. A fun printed jumpsuit can be worn on the beach, while a structed, black jumpsuit can be worn to wedding…the possibilities are endless!

6. Palazzo pants

Fashion has finally done it- an adorable pant that feels like pajamas! Light, airy and sassy, the palazzo pants look great with tank tops, blouses and even tees.

7. Statement necklaces

Long or short, diamonds or pearls, silver or gold…statement necklaces are back! With the ability to add spunk to any outift, the statement necklace is certainly a girl’s best friend.

Keep an eye out for even more trends; we all know that fashion changes frequently!

Epic Fail: Lilly Pulitzer for Target

Weeks have passed since women, including myself, attempted to shop online at 2am only in the hopes of getting a coveted piece from the Lilly Pulitzer for Target Collection. Maybe I’m just bitter that all my favorite items were sold out when I attempted to add them to my shopping cart, but this partnership has produced nothing but greed, selfishness, and sure…an adorable line of clothing and accessories!

Aside from the bright prints and wallet-friendly prices, the collection left online-shoppers saddened at 2am and in-store shoppers forced to sprint like gazelles to receive even one shift dress. And those lucky ladies who happened to purchase more than necessary are now selling the collection on Ebay, for double, triple, or even for full retail price of a true Lilly Pulitzer piece.

Admittedly, I still love Target and adore Lilly, but I think that their union was certainly subpar. As someone who has conquered the Lilly Warehouse Sale several times, the Lilly for Target partnership seems like a poorly organized enterprise with nothing but shortage and disappointment for most.

To those lucky Lilly lovers donning their Lilly for Target frocks, I hope you wear them in good health! As for the rest of us…the classic Lilly prints are cuter than Target’s anyhow!!
